The country is experiencing a massive commercial building construction boom, with an estimated 300,000 square feet of commercial floor space being built every day. This growth is expected to continue over the next two decades, with the commercial real estate market projected to reach USD 528.84 billion by 2034, growing at a CAGR of 21.6%.

"ECSBC" emphasize constructing buildings in an environmentally sustainable manner. This involves the use of energy-efficient lighting, water-saving fixtures, optimized air conditioning systems, and effective waste management strategies to minimize the building's ecological footprint.

The ECSBC provides minimum requirements for energy-efficient and sustainable design and construction of buildings, currently applicable to large commercial & office buildings with connected loads of 100 kW and above or 120 kVA and above. This is the only mandatory code implemented by central & state governments in this field.
