Dr. DC Patra is the Former Executive Director (Planning) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). He has 34 years long tenure with BPCL. As Executive Director, Planning, Dr. Patra was a member of the senior management team in BPCL. His career in BPCL was spread over such marketing domains as POL operation, LPG marketing, logistics management, international trade, infrastructural development and corporate planning. Dr. Patra had two years stint (1985-1987) in the Department of Economic Analysis and Policy, Reserve bank of India at Mumbai. During this phase, Dr. Patra had the opportunity to analyze the functioning of the Indian economy through practicing economists’ view. He is the author of 3 books and 45 published papers. He has extensively worked in the area of Petro Economics and energy transition.
